IPL Auction 2016

Ipl 2018 will mark the 11th season of IPL. Mumbai Indians won IPL 10 by Rising Pune SuperGiant.

After Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals were suspended after being found guilty in an illegal betting and match-fixing probe they would be making their come back after having served two year suspensions.

IPL Auction 2018 is expected to be an open auction with all the players going into the pool. Unlike the cases in the previous editions of the tournament, no players will be retained by any of the teams in a case if there is no retention policy.

However, speculations are rife whether all players will be included in the auction or there will be a retention policy. Rajiv Shukla quoted that since there is time for the auctions, nothing is decided. However, he did confirm that Rising Pune Supergiant and Gujarat Lions will not be returning in IPL 2018 and CSK and RR will take their place.

This means that each and every player will go in to auctions and franchises will have to fight it out there in the auction room to get their star players back.
